Information for Editors

Transmathematica has three kinds of editor: consulting editors, subject editors and regional editors. Consulting editors provide special services. Subject editors are expert in some field of academic endeavour and in total systems. Their role is to oversee academic judgements about submissions in their area of expertise. Regional editors are primarily responsible for overseeing submissions in regional languages and organising regional events, such as conferences. Regional editors may also be subject specialists.

If you are interested in becoming an editor, we recommend you study some free modules in the PKP School.  by navigating to the school's Register page and fill in your details. Your registration will be assessed by an administrator. It can take from several hours to several days to be approved. Your school registration is completely different from your journal registration. When you have your school registration, you are ready to study.

If you are new to editing, you may find it helpful to study the course Becoming an Editor. This course is quite long but provides a mass of detail about practical, legal and ethical aspects of editing. It will be helpful to you if you edit for any journal. The course is self-paced so you can take your time over it.

If you are new to reviewing for OJS journals, like Transmathematica, you will definitely find it helpful to study the course Editorial Workflow in OJS 3. This course deals with the software used by Transmathematica and tens of thousands of journals worldwide. It is a long course but it is self-paced so you can take your time over it.

If your duties require it, you will be given access to the iThenticate plagiarism detecion system and its documentation.
